Über „Hysteria“ Download Mitten in einem Krakauer Hinterhof steht ein kleines Haus. Claudius Gentinetta verbringt hier dreizehn Monate als Stipendiant. Seine Alltagseindrücke sind geprägt durch die Sicht aus dem Fenster in den Hof, auf eine uralte Klostermauer, auf eine grüne Oase für Kinder, auf Hundeklos, Autoreparateure und deren bierselige Feste. Gentinetta, kein Wort polnisch sprechend, ist stummer Beobachter, dem Hände, Füsse und bald auch der Bleistift die Zunge ersetzen müssen. Der Zeichner befindet sich schnell einmal inmitten von kuriosen Geschichten, die sich auf den Straßen, im Hinterhof und in seinem Kopf abspielen. Expressiv und ohne einschränkende Erklärung durch Worte zeigen Gentinettas Comics Menschen, Orte und Geschehnisse. About „ Hysteria“ Supported by ‚The Artest‘ scholarship I got the chance to spend 13 months in Cracow, Poland. The house I lived and worked in during this time was situated in the middle of a backyard in the old town. From my window I had direct view of an old nunnery‘s wall. In summer the backyard turned into an oasis for playing children an whistling car-mechanics. In the cold tristness of the polish winter, the backyard served only dogs for their dirts. When I first arrived in Cracow I could hardly speak a word of Polish. I was nothing but an observer without a tongue, using hands and feet to make me understand. Soon I found myself involved in lots of small plots, taking place in the backyard and on the streets of Cracow. The less I understood due to my lack of language, the more coulourful lived my imaginations. This Comic strip contains some of my favorite narratives. Without constraining words I wanted to let the drawings tell their stories about people, places and their curiosities.
